Empowering Learning Group are currently seeking an experienced Science Technician to support a secondary school in the Stockton area on a part-time basis, working 3 days per week.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Science Technician who enjoys working in an educational environment and is confident supporting teaching staff and students within a secondary school science department.

The Role

As a Science Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the smooth and safe running of the science department. Duties may include:

Preparing equipment, materials and practical resources for science lessons
Supporting teachers with practical demonstrations and experiments
Maintaining and organising laboratory equipment and resources
Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times
Preparing and clearing away practical equipment and materials
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised laboratory environment
Supporting the wider science department as required

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

Has previous experience working within a Science environment
Has experience as a Science Technician or in a similar relevant role
Has a good understanding of laboratory equipment, procedures and health & safety
Is organised, reliable and able to work independently
Has good communication skills and works well as part of a team
Is comfortable working within a secondary school environment
Has a genuine interest in supporting education and young people

Essential Requirements

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to purchase an Enhanced DBS
Able to provide professional references covering the last 2 years
Previous Science experience is essential
Right to work in the UK
