Accelerate Teaching is seeking a dedicated and experienced Science Technician to join a vibrant secondary school in Leeds. Role: Science Technician

Location: Secondary School in Leeds

Start Date: September 2024

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and materials for practical science lessons.
Assist teachers in the delivery of engaging and effective science experiments and demonstrations.
Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to within the laboratory.
Maintain accurate records of equipment, materials, and chemicals.
Provide technical support during lessons and assist with the set-up and dismantling of laboratory equipment.
Conduct routine maintenance and repairs of laboratory apparatus.
Support the department in organising and managing resources efficiently.
Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative practical science activities.Requirements:

Proven experience as a Science Technician in an educational setting.
Strong knowledge of laboratory practices and procedures.
Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations in a laboratory environment.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication skills to liaise with staff and students.
