Description:

Teaching Personnel is looking for a fantastic science teacher within a partnership school in Bath who can teach Key Stages 3 and 4 for the academic year 24/25. All applications are welcome from passionate educators who are creative, innovative, and committed to students' learning and progress.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Planning and delivering engaging and effective lessons that align with the National Curriculum. selecting appropriate teaching materials, and employing various instructional strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Assessing students' understanding of scientific concepts through assignments, exams, and other assessment methods.
Maintaining a positive and productive learning environment is crucial. Science teachers are responsible for managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a safe laboratory environment.
Keeping up-to-date with educational trends and developments in the field of science to enhance the curriculum and teaching methods.
Supporting students with special educational needs. This may involve providing additional help to struggling students and adapting materials
Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to discuss student progress, address concerns, and provide updates on classroom activities.
Continuing professional development is important for staying current with educational practices and advancements in science. Teachers attend workshops, conferences, and engage in ongoing training to enhance their skills.

The successful educator will have the following:

An enhanced child only DBS (can be applied for through TP)
A relevant science degree in Biology, Chemistry or Physics
Qualified Teacher Status and a PGCE
Confidence to teach in front of class of students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
