We are working with a forward-thinking secondary school in Northampton that is looking to welcome an enthusiastic Science Teacher to its successful department from September 2026. Whether you're an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT), this is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team committed to delivering engaging lessons and achieving outstanding outcomes for students.

The Role

As a Science Teacher, you will inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 depending on your experience and subject specialism. You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons, promoting scientific enquiry, and helping students develop the knowledge and skills they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured Science lessons across KS3 and KS4

Teach your specialist subject alongside the wider Science curriculum

Deliver practical investigations that develop students' scientific thinking and problem-solving skills

Monitor, assess, and evaluate student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback

Differentiate learning to ensure every student is challenged and supported

Contribute to the planning and ongoing development of the Science curriculum

Take part in departmental initiatives, enrichment activities, and STEM events

Work collaboratively with colleagues to share ideas and promote high-quality teaching across the department

About You

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

A degree in a Science-related subject

Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Science education

The ability to inspire, motivate, and engage students of varying abilities

Excellent classroom management and organisational skills

A positive, reflective, and collaborative approach to teaching

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

ECTs are welcome to apply and will benefit from a comprehensive induction and mentoring programme
