Science Supply Teacher

Location: Salford
Start Date: ASAP
Role: Day-to-day and short-term supply, with potential for longer-term opportunities
Pay: £140–£190 per day, depending on experience

Cover People are currently recruiting Science Teachers to work across secondary schools in Salford.

These opportunities are primarily day-to-day and short-term supply, giving teachers the flexibility to choose work around their availability. Longer-term placements may also become available where schools require ongoing Science teaching support.

We're keen to hear from teachers who can deliver engaging Science lessons and confidently support pupils across different abilities and year groups.

The Role

Depending on the school and assignment, you may be responsible for:

Teaching Science across KS3 and KS4
Delivering lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics
Following existing lesson plans and school resources
Adapting teaching to meet different learning needs
Maintaining a positive and purposeful classroom environment
Managing behaviour effectively and establishing clear expectations
Supporting pupils with their understanding of scientific concepts
Encouraging participation and maintaining engagement
Supporting practical Science activities in line with school procedures
Working alongside other teaching and support staff

About You

We're looking for reliable, adaptable and confident Science Teachers who can settle quickly into new school environments.

You should have:

QTS or an appropriate teaching qualification
Experience teaching Science at secondary level
Strong subject knowledge across the Science curriculum
Effective classroom and behaviour-management skills
The ability to follow planning and adapt lessons where appropriate
Good communication and organisational skills
A flexible and professional approach
A genuine commitment to supporting pupils' progress
Teachers with a specialism in Biology, Chemistry or Physics are encouraged to apply, as are ECTs with relevant secondary Science experience.
