The Supply Register is working in partnership with Newcastle College to recruit Science Lecturers with experience in BTEC / Applied Science. This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a well-established college, with the potential to secure longer-term or permanent roles.

The Role

You’ll support learners across Applied Science programmes, helping them develop both theoretical knowledge and practical laboratory skills.

Deliver engaging lessons across BTEC / Applied Science (Level 1–Level 3)

Teach a range of topics including biology, chemistry, and physics applications

Support and supervise practical lab sessions

Promote safe working practices within laboratory environments

Monitor learner progress and provide clear, constructive feedback

Create a positive and inclusive learning environment

What We’re Looking For

We welcome candidates from a range of backgrounds:

Essential:

Experience in Science (teaching or industry/lab-based)

Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Applied Science

Ability to support both theory and practical learning

Strong communication and organisational skills

A flexible and reliable approach

Desirable:

Teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, DET)

Experience delivering BTEC Applied Science or similar

Experience supporting laboratory practicals

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
