We seek a dynamic individual to fill the School Accountant and School Business Manager roles. This unique position will be crucial in our school community, providing support tailored to each school's needs. Depending on the school’s requirements, this could involve hybrid working, with on-site visits, offering a diverse and engaging work environment. Experience in delivering strategic and operational objectives is a crucial aspect of this role, offering significant professional growth and development opportunities.

Responsibility

As a school accountant and business manager, you will significantly impact financial management. Your strategic support, including budget analysis and reporting to the Governing Body and headteachers, will be instrumental in the school's success.

Qualification – Essential

* GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.

* CIMA, AAT Qualification or equivalent finance-related qualification and experience.

* Advanced – Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, social media and CRM.

Essential - Skills, Abilities & Experience

* Transactional support – payments, month-end reconciliation, VAT submittal.

* Supporting the school in developing Deficit recovery plans.

* Implementing new finance systems -training.

* Sound knowledge of school funding.

* Expertise in at least one of the following systems – ACCESS, RM, Sims/FMS.

* Advanced IT skills – the ability to collate data into information.

* They must be able to work on their initiative but strike a balance between feedback and senior management.

* Clear and concise communication skills –both written and oral.

* Able to engage with stakeholders using persuasive language, not aggressive.

* Ability to work under pressure, juggling various priorities and timelines.

* Proven accountancy and systems skills to fulfil statutory reporting and practical financial requirements.

* Proven ability to analyse and present complex information clearly and concisely for various audiences.

* Experience advising and supporting schools on financial issues, including their ratified budgets, growth funds, year-end revenue, and capital returns.

* Responsible for ensuring that the statutory accounting procedures are following the instructions and timetables

* An ability to manage various requirements simultaneously to meet deadlines and the role's demands.

* Proven track record of innovation and creativity in financial solutions.

* Awareness of data protection issues, including data protection administration.

Essential Compliance Requirements

* Five Years of Reference.

* Enhanced DBS Checks are required for the role.

* A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role.
