Responsibilities:
Our client is seeking a dynamic and dedicated School Kitchen Manager to oversee the culinary operations at a vibrant educational institution in Luton. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual passionate about food, nutrition, and enhancing the dining experience for students.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and managing the kitchen team to deliver high-quality meals in a safe and hygienic environment.
Planning and designing menus that cater to diverse dietary needs while ensuring nutritional standards are met.
Managing food budgets, cost control, and inventory to optimise resources effectively.
Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards.
Collaborating with school staff to promote healthy eating initiatives and engage students in food-related activities.
Training and developing kitchen staff, fostering a positive and efficient working atmosphere.
Communicating effectively with parents, staff, and students to gather feedback and improve service delivery.This role requires a proactive leader with a passion for food and a commitment to providing nourishing meals that support student health and well-being.
Qualifications and Experience:
Previous experience in a similar role within a school or catering environment is essential.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practises.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
A creative approach to menu planning and a keen understanding of dietary needs.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
