School Holiday SEN Support Worker / PA, SW17. A fantastic School Holiday SEN Support Worker / PA position available for a Teaching Assistant / Student or Support Worker seeking additional hours. Offering up to £19.50 Gross per Hour, DOE.

Essential: Experience supporting a teenager or young adult with a physical and learning disability, confident in manual handling. This role is open to female applicants only.
Start Date: ASAP, with a start date as soon as 27th of May for the upcoming school holidays if desired.
Days & Hours: Offering 15 hours per week initially whilst building up a relationship with Zara, then increasing to 25. Days, start / finish times very flexible and to be mutually agreed

About this client/child: Zara is 18 years old and has had SEN Support through Snap Care since she was a teeny tot. Zara attends a residential school (Monday to Friday) and requires an SEN Support Worker to provide hands-on support (1:1) at home during her school holidays, and some occasional weekends. Zara has a rare genetic condition that presents as a physical and learning disability. Zara communicates with responses to yes/no questions, basic Makaton, and symbols. She is a wheelchair user and requires support with all aspects of her health and care needs. Zara enjoys arts and crafts, shopping, trips to the café, walks, and playing games and sensory activities. Zara’s home is adapted with specialist equipment and a lift.
Overview of role: Zara’s SEN Support Worker will assist with her personal care tasks, support with all aspects of her ADL’s, manual handling, communication and enable her to participate in family life, activities at home and in the community. Zara is a sociable young woman, although at times may become anxious with something new and can become overwhelmed. That said, she really would like her SEN Support Worker to help her explore new interests and hobbies; even though it will be a slow process. This role is an integral part of Zara’s support network and team, and the following weeks are when support is required: 27th – 31st of May, 23rd of July – 6th of September, 28th of October – 1st of November, 23rd of December – 7th of January. Zara’s parents can be very flexible during the holiday weeks, and all hours and days worked are to be mutually agreed. On offer is 15 hours per week initially, with the opportunity of additional hours once settled into the role.
