Rosie enjoys audio books, keeping up with her friends on social media, fashion, make-up, online shopping, and spending time during the holidays in Cornwall in her family holiday home. During her stay in Cornwall, she loves nothing more than getting out to the beach (a short walk away) in her all-terrain wheelchair. Rosie has a degenerative condition and requires 1:1 support to meet all her health, care, and medical needs; she is totally reliant on others. Her condition presents as a physical disability, and she is an electric wheelchair user; it also affects her hearing, eyesight, and speech. She receives most of her nutrition, fluid, and medication via a PEG. Rosie is an intelligent young woman; and keen to be as independent as possible, she knows her own mind and can communicate verbally and engage in conversations in a quiet setting.

Snap Care are recruiting a SEN Support Worker / PA to join her team on a temporary basis. Rosie’s SEN Support Worker / PA will assist and support with all her daily tasks, including all aspects of personal care, administering feeds, liquids and medication via her PEG, repositioning, manual handling (ceiling track hoists in both her family and holiday home), accessing activities, events, participating in family life. You’ll facilitate Rosie to access social media, working as her scribe – you’ll be there to support Rosie to do what she wants and needs to do. The role also involves night care, and it is defined as an On-Call Night, meaning you will sleep in the family home, and assist Rosie as and when, or if required during the night. Rosie might need help with fixing her blanket/duvet or require support with personal care; other nights she will not need any support. Rosie requires oxygen during the night, and you will be alerted via an audio monitor and tend to Rosie’s needs as and when required.
Who this job would suit: This will suit an experienced SEN professional seeking a temporary role throughout the summer holiday weeks. The position requires a happy, positive, confident, tech savvy, energetic *female SEN Support Worker / PA, who can connect with Rosie and provide a high standard of care and support. You must be confident working in a sole charge role, both at home and outside doing activities.
What’s great about this job: This role is highly recommended by current Snap Care employees. You will have the opportunity to work within a welcoming family setting and enjoy exploring all the loveliness North Cornwall coast and Guildford has to offer. Training is provided.
Who is recruiting for this role? Snap Care will be carrying out all recruitment including shortlisting, recruiter interviews and arranging employer interviews.
