Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 8.30-4pm, Tuesday 8.30-5pm, Friday (phone number removed)pm

plus all 8/9 Inset days

32 academic weeks per year

An independant SEND School is seeking a compassionate and qualified School Counsellor to join their dedicated pastoral team. This role not only involves providing direct support to students but also offering supervision to other professionals within the school.

Key Responsibilities:

Student Support: Provide individual and group counselling sessions to students, addressing academic, emotional, and social challenges.

*

Supervision: Offer professional supervision to fellow staff, fostering their development and ensuring adherence to best practices.

*

Program Development: Design and implement comprehensive school counselling programs that promote student well-being and align with the school's ethos.

*

Crisis Intervention: Respond promptly to student crises, collaborating with staff and external agencies as necessary.

*

Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to create supportive networks for students.

*

Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality in line with ethical guidelines and school policies.

Qualifications and Experience:

*

A recognised qualification in counselling or psychotherapy.

*

Accreditation with a professional body (e.g., BACP, UKCP).

*

Experience in a school setting is highly desirable.

*

Proven experience in providing supervision to other counselling professionals.

Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion.

Additional Expectations:

All staff are expected to contribute fully to the extra-curricular and pastoral life of the school. This includes participating in supervision duties, engaging with parents, and promoting positive behaviour among students.
