Job Description
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and reliable School Cook to join a friendly school catering team on a temporary, ongoing basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with catering experience who is looking for consistent weekday work, daytime hours and a great work-life balance.
The successful candidate will help prepare and serve meals to pupils and staff, ensuring high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and food safety are maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparing and cooking meals in a school kitchen environment.
* Assisting with the serving of meals to pupils and staff.
* Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, health and safety.
* Keeping kitchen areas, equipment and workstations clean and tidy.
* Following food safety procedures and safe working practices.
* Working effectively as part of a catering team.
Requirements
* A valid Enhanced DBS check is essential, or willingness to obtain one if applicable.
* A Food Hygiene Certificate is essential.
* Previous experience in a school kitchen or catering environment is desirable.
* Good knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
* A reliable, hardworking and positive attitude.
* Availability to work Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 2:30pm.
