Full-Time, Permanent
All-Year round working on a split shift rota.
Shift A (7am-12pm)
Shift B (3pm-6pm)
Salary- £22,369 to £24,054
My client is looking for an experienced School Caretaker to work at a School around Wilmslow. This is a Full-time Permanent Position to start ASAP working split shifts Mornings & Evenings, you will be reporting to the Site Manager.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain the school building, including effecting repairs and improvements to fulfil the school’s specific responsibilities.
• Monitor and operate the engineering system and advise management of any faults to ensure the most economical use of fuel and water.
• Discuss and monitor the work of contractors engaged by school to ensure specified standards are achieved.
• Monitor, operate and maintain appropriate site security systems, including opening and closing the building at the beginning and end of the school day, lettings outside school hours and responding to call outs as necessary to provide satisfactory security arrangements.
• Maintain and monitor Health and Safety standards, reporting any failures to comply with the school’s statutory obligations in this area and ensure that contractor’s work meets Health and safety Regulations.
• Supervise the work of cleaning staff; allocate, and gives guidance upon the performance of, day-to-day tasks to be undertaken.
• Organise and carry out portering and cleaning duties (including the moving of heavy furniture) which will secure the most efficient use of resources.
A candidate will ideally have:
• Enhanced DBS
• Previous caretaking /security / maintenance experience
• Building skills and Health & Safety awareness
• Good general education
• Work on own initiative
• Adapt to changing needs
• Good interpersonal skills, sense of humour
