Tradewind Recruitment is seeking reliable, practical and hardworking School Caretakers to work on a supply basis across schools throughout Derby and the surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in caretaking, facilities management, maintenance, estates or a similar role who is looking for flexible working opportunities.

Due to the nature of working on a supply basis, you may be required to work across a variety of school settings throughout Derby and the local area. This provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience within different schools and environments while enjoying flexibility over your working arrangements.

Working hours will vary depending on the school's requirements, with both short-term and longer-term assignments available.

The Role

As a Supply School Caretaker, you'll play an important role in ensuring school buildings and grounds are safe, secure, clean and well maintained.

Responsibilities may include:

Opening and securing school premises.
Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs.
Ensuring school buildings, grounds and facilities are safe and well maintained.
Completing routine health and safety checks.
Identifying and reporting maintenance issues and potential hazards.
Supporting contractors and external visitors when required.
Setting up and moving furniture and equipment.
Maintaining outdoor areas and school grounds.
Responding to maintenance requests from school staff.
Supporting the school with general site and facilities duties.
Ensuring the school environment remains safe, clean and welcoming for pupils and staff.We offer a range of opportunities to suit your availability, including:

We're Looking For

Previous experience in caretaking, maintenance, facilities, estates or a similar role.
Experience working within a school environment is beneficial but not essential.
Good practical and problem-solving skills.
A proactive and reliable approach to work.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and organisational skills.
An understanding of health and safety procedures.
The ability to respond effectively to maintenance and site-related issues.
A flexible approach to working across different school settings.
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
