We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic and proactive Caretaker to join our friendly primary school team in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment where children can thrive.

As our Caretaker, you will play a key role in ensuring that our school buildings and grounds are well maintained, secure and fit for purpose, supporting both pupils and staff every day.

Key Responsibilities

Opening and closing the school premises, ensuring the site is secure at all times.
Carrying out routine maintenance, repairs and decorating where appropriate.
Managing the cleanliness and presentation of the school grounds.
Undertaking health and safety checks, including fire safety and building compliance.
Monitoring heating, lighting and other building systems.
Liaising with contractors and supervising work carried out on site.
Setting up rooms and equipment for assemblies, events and school activities.
Reporting maintenance issues and ensuring they are addressed promptly.
Supporting the school in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

Has previous caretaking, site management or maintenance experience (school experience is desirable but not essential).
Has practical DIY and maintenance skills.
Understands the importance of health and safety in the workplace.
Is organised, self-motivated and able to work independently.
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Is flexible, dependable and takes pride in their work.
Enjoys working as part of a supportive school team.
