This highly regarded secondary school, rich in academic excellence, is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Business Manager. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the School Business Manager will ensure that operations and improvement plans are costed and affordable, supporting consistent quality of education in line with the school’s vision and values.
The school is seeking a charismatic individual who will bring direct experience of budget management, strategic financial planning and inspired staff management skills, leading a large team in facilities management, human resources, finance, ICT and administration.
The School Business Manager will lead on the following:
* To provide strategic and hands-on leadership of business operations and achieving best value.
* Lead on strategic leadership and management of finance within the school, providing financial planning and advice to the Headteacher and Governors on the most effective use of resources.
* To manage the Human Resources functions, advising on HR issues and managing an effective case work service relating to staff including attendance management, capability, grievance and disciplinary procedures.
* To ensure that the school has effective ICT and administrative processes including reception and communication systems, ICT services and data management.
* Ensure effective administrative and clerking support for the Governing Body, Committees and working groups, attending termly meetings and providing reports as required.
* To manage and oversee the work of the Facilities Manager including maintenance and development of the site and buildings, maintaining and developing the Health and Safety Policy.
* To promote and develop the community use of the site including developing procedures for community access and ensuring appropriate budget monitoring for the programme.
Leading on finance is a key element of the role and the person appointed will bring a proven track record in this area. This is a demanding role which requires an individual who is 'on point' with financial detail, with the ability to provide the leadership of other business management functions.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or hold a professional qualification in a field relating to School Business Management, Business Administration or Financial qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA.
This is a full time, onsite and all year through role. The school offers a generous leave policy, contributory pension, free parking and lunch during term time.
