Role

The School of Nursing brings together Adult, Child, Mental Health and Learning Disability Nursing, into one vibrant and dynamic community. Our aim is to provide a high-quality learning experience for our students to enable them to realise their ambitions to become registered professionals and to continue their development through a range of continuing professional development opportunities. The School is seeking to appoint a School Administration Officer to support our Course Directors.

Duties and responsibilities
The role provides high quality administrative support for the School Course Directors and Module Leads. The primary focus will be supporting School Course Directors directly in arranging meetings and diary support, bringing forward papers, sense-checking and editing documents, note taking, collating uploading data on to data systems, along with other duties commensurate with the role as required.

Skills and experience

Qualifications and Training

* GCSE A-C, or equivalent, in English and Mathematics

* Demonstrable administrative experience including skilled use and manipulation of spreadsheets and databases.

* Demonstrable experience of the workings of an academic/Higher Education/Further Education, the NHS/PIVOS or Social Services.

* Strong, developed office skills, including Microsoft Office programmes (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)

* .Previous working experience of taking notes and/or servicing committees.

Skills and Attributes

* Excellent numeracy, written and oral communication skills with an ability to produce clear written reports and present statistical data and analysis in an accessible way for non-technical users, and to bridge cultural barriers.

* Good organisational and time management skills; scheduling and prioritising multiple projects and tasks with varying deadlines.

* Excellent customer service ethos to enable effective delivery of services to internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

* Able to establish and maintain productive professional relationships with colleagues and stakeholder groups.

* Able to work under own initiative and as part of a team, using strong interpersonal skills.

* Ability to handle confidential information sensitively and securely.

* Experience of maintaining large datasets within a database or other electronic storage software.
