Description:
Main Duties
Erecting - tube & fitting, system scaffold, towers, birdcages, loading bays
Dismantling - strip it back safely and stack materialsModifying - add lifts, beams, fans, pavement gantries, debris netting
Inspections - check ties, bracing, boards, guardrails. Tag it "Handover Certificate"
Materials - move tubes, fittings, boards, beams. Lots of manual handling
HSE - follow TG20, NASC guidance, edge protection, harness work, permit to work
Key Skills Needed
Read scaffold drawings + do basic load calculations
Knot tying, lifting, working at height in all weathers
Problem solving: every building is a different shape
Fitness: carrying 3.9m tubes and steel boards all day
Teamwork: scaffolding is always done in gangs of 2-4
