Not every Teaching Assistant role is the same.
Some roles are about helping pupils complete worksheets. This role is about helping young people build confidence, develop independence, overcome challenges and celebrate achievements that others may take for granted.Hays Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and well-resourced special school in Sandwell that supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, learning difficulties, communication needs and social, emotional and mental health challenges.The school is looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team for the new academic year.
What You'll Be Doing

Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
Helping students engage with learning and achieve their individual targets.
Encouraging communication, social interaction and emotional wellbeing.
Supporting pupils during lessons, breaktimes, educational visits and enrichment activities.
Implementing behaviour support strategies and promoting positive outcomes.
Working closely with teachers, therapists and senior leaders to provide the best possible support.

Enjoys building positive and professional relationships with young people.
Remains calm, patient and resilient in challenging situations.
Has experience working with children, young people or vulnerable adults.
Can think on their feet and use initiative.
Is passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs.
