Role: Sales Manager (Packaging)
Location: Field Based - Midlands/South
Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 (Negotiable) + Company Car + Uncapped Commission
The Company: Plastic/ Glass Packaging
The Opportunity
• Manage and develop an established portfolio of customers across the Midlands and South of England (approx. £4million)
• Proactively generate new business through prospecting, networking and market development
• Build strong, long-term relationships with key decision makers
• Identify opportunities to increase sales within existing accounts
• Develop new customer relationships and opportunities
• Understand customer requirements and work with internal teams to provide the right packaging solutions
• Prepare and manage sales pipelines, forecasts and commercial plans
• Negotiate pricing and contracts to deliver profitable growth
• Monitor market and competitor activity and identify new opportunities
• Work closely with colleagues across customer service, technical, operations and supply chain
About You
• We’re looking for an experienced packaging sales professional with a proven track record in both account development and new business
• Previous sales experience within packaging or a closely related industry
• Experience selling plastic packaging, bottles, jars, closures or similar products would be particularly relevant
• A strong track record of winning new business and developing existing accounts
• Excellent commercial and negotiation skills
• The ability to build relationships at all levels, from operational contacts through to senior decision makers
• A proactive, self-motivated approach to sales
• Good understanding of packaging products, applications and customer requirements
• Strong communication, presentation and organisational skills
• The confidence to work independently across a large geographical territory
• Grow sales and develop new opportunities
