About the Role
We are looking for a proactive Sales Lead Generator to help identify new business opportunities for a specialist manufacturing business based in Portsmouth.
You will research potential customers, contact key decision-makers and generate qualified leads for the sales team, helping to build a strong pipeline of future business.
Key Responsibilities
* Research potential customers across automotive, aerospace, engineering, medical, electronics and other relevant industries.
* Identify key contacts, including purchasing managers, engineers and decision-makers.
* Make outbound calls, send introductory emails and use LinkedIn to engage prospective customers.
* Introduce the business’s products, services and manufacturing capabilities.
* Follow up on initial contact to identify customer requirements and potential sales opportunities.
* Qualify leads by gathering information on applications, volumes and project timescales.
* Maintain accurate prospect records and activity updates within the CRM system.
* Work closely with the sales team to agree target markets and support business development campaigns.
* Monitor lead-generation activity and contribute ideas to improve results.
About You
* Confident communicator with a professional telephone manner.
* Comfortable making outbound calls and approaching new businesses.
* Strong research, organisational and administration skills.
* Proactive, resilient and motivated by achieving targets.
* Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and online research tools.
* Able to work independently and manage your own workload.
Previous experience in lead generation, telesales, sales support or B2B business development would be advantageous. Knowledge of manufacturing, engineering or technical products, along with experience using a CRM system or LinkedIn for prospecting, would also be beneficial.
