Valenti Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Business Development & Events Manager to drive new business and event revenue across three established hospitality venues in Derby, Nottingham and Leicester.

This is a proactive new-business role.

We are specifically looking for someone with proven experience generating new revenue, not simply managing inbound event enquiries.

You'll be expected to get out into the local market, build relationships, identify opportunities, prospect new clients and convert those relationships into corporate bookings, private events, parties, celebrations and other revenue-generating opportunities.

If you have a strong background in hospitality sales, venue sales, event sales, business development or corporate sales and can demonstrate that you've personally won new business, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

Working across three hospitality venues, you'll take ownership of proactive sales and business development within each local market.

You'll work closely with the Group Senior Sales & Events Manager, General Managers and Marketing Team, but this role requires someone who is comfortable independently identifying opportunities and going after them.

You'll be responsible for:

* Proactively identifying and approaching new corporate and event clients.

* Building relationships with local businesses, PAs, office managers, event organisers and key decision-makers.

* Generating new leads through networking, prospecting, referrals and local partnerships.

* Developing corporate accounts and converting them into repeat business.

* Attending networking events, exhibitions and local business functions.

* Conducting venue show-rounds and client meetings.

* Building and managing a strong sales pipeline.

* Following up leads and converting enquiries into confirmed revenue.

* Developing relationships with event agencies and third-party partners.

* Identifying opportunities for private events, corporate functions, celebrations and group bookings.

* Working with Marketing to develop targeted local campaigns.

* Maximising seasonal opportunities, particularly Christmas and key trading periods.

* Tracking activity, conversion and revenue through CRM and booking systems.

* Reporting against weekly and quarterly sales targets.

* Supporting the operational teams to ensure events are delivered to a high standard.

What We're Looking For

We're particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate proactive new-business success.

You'll ideally have experience as a:

Business Development Manager | Sales Manager | Events Sales Manager | Venue Sales Manager | Corporate Sales Manager | Sales & Events Manager | Cluster Sales Manager

within hospitality, hotels, restaurants, bars, events or a closely related sector.

You should be able to demonstrate:

A track record of personally generating new business and revenue.

Experience prospecting and approaching potential clients rather than relying solely on inbound enquiries.

Strong corporate and local business networking experience.

Experience managing a sales pipeline from initial prospect through to confirmed booking.

Confidence working towards revenue and activity targets.

Strong commercial awareness and understanding of conversion.

Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.

The ability to work independently across multiple locations.

Experience using CRM, booking or sales tracking systems.

You must hold a driving licence and be comfortable travelling regularly between Derby, Nottingham and Leicester.

What Success Looks Like

This isn't simply about running great events.

Success will mean:

* Bringing new clients into the venues.

* Increasing corporate and event revenue.

* Building a strong pipeline of future business.

* Developing long-term local partnerships.

* Converting prospects into repeat customers.

* Consistently achieving agreed sales and revenue targets.

Package

* Up to £36,000 salary

* Performance-related bonus

* Multi-site role across three established hospitality venues

* Genuine autonomy to develop each local market

* Career progression within a growing hospitality group

* Discounted or free food

* Company events
