Sales Engineer (Plastics Manufacturing)

Are you a technically minded sales professional with experience in engineering or manufacturing environments? We're partnering with a leading manufacturer of advanced engineering materials and components to recruit a Sales Engineer.
This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of key customer relationships, develop new business opportunities, and work closely with major OEM accounts across a variety of industrial markets.
The Role
As a Sales Engineer, you'll be responsible for managing and growing existing OEM accounts while identifying new business opportunities to drive revenue and market share growth.
Working closely with internal sales and technical teams, your responsibilities will include:
* Developing and maintaining relationships with key OEM customers.
* Identifying and securing new opportunities for engineered materials and components.
* Providing technical guidance and application support to customers.
* Preparing quotations and managing customer enquiries through to completion.
* Working collaboratively with internal departments to deliver tailored solutions.
* Maintaining accurate customer records and pipeline activity through CRM systems.
* Monitoring market trends and competitor activity to uncover growth opportunities.
* Achieving and exceeding agreed sales targets and KPIs.
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience in a Sales Engineer, Technical Sales, Area Sales Manager, or Business Development role.
* Background within engineering, manufacturing, industrial production, plastics, machining, or related sectors.
* Strong understanding of engineering materials and manufacturing processes.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Knowledge of CNC machining and ERP systems would be advantageous.
* Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
* Self-motivated and capable of managing a remote territory independently.
* Degree qualified in Engineering, Business, Materials Science, Chemistry, Plastics, or a related discipline (preferred).
