Locum Social Worker - Childrens Services

Safeguarding

Responsibilities:

Protecting children and young people from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
Conducting thorough assessments of children and families where there are concerns about abuse or neglect.
Gathering information from various sources, including the child, family members, schools, healthcare providers and other relevant parties, to evaluate the level of risk and determine appropriate interventions.
Developing and implementing child protection plans aimed at mitigating risks and ensuring the safety of children.
Participating in case meetings, child protection conferences and court proceedings as necessary.
Advocating for the best interests of the child and ensuring that safeguarding measures are effectively implemented.
Engaging in preventative work, such as delivering training & awareness-raising initiatives within communities, schools and other settings to promote early identification of risks and improve safeguarding practices.

Essential Requirements:

Previous experience working with children and families in a social work setting, for a minimum of three years.
A degree in social work.
Registration with Social Work England as a Qualified Social Worker.
Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to identify risks and develop effective intervention plans.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
A commitment to upholding the highest standards of professional ethics and integrity.
