Roofer Wanted – 5-Day Contract
Location: SW14 8EX
Start Date: Monday 13/07/2026
Duration: 5 Days
We are looking for a experienced roofer to carry out remedial works to an existing natural slate roof on a residential property.
Scope of Works
The successful candidates will be required to:
* Remove previously repaired slates that have been patched with bitumen/mastic and replace them with matching natural slate.
* Identify and replace all cracked, split or otherwise defective slates with like-for-like natural slates.
* Inspect and repair the ridge/apex, including re-bedding, mechanical fixing or replacing damaged ridge components where required to ensure a secure, weatherproof finish.
* Investigate the existing slate fixing method and determine whether ferrous nails have been used and are showing signs of corrosion.
* Carry out a final inspection to ensure all repaired areas are watertight.
* Clear all debris from the roof and gutters on completion.
* Take before and after photographs of the work.
* Provide written confirmation of the slate fixing condition along with any recommendations for further remedial works if required.
Requirements
* Proven experience working with natural slate roofing.
* Own hand tools and PPE.
* Ability to carry out repairs to a high standard.
* Reliable and able to complete the works within the 5-day programme.
Access
* A scaffold tower can be hired if required.
* Photographs of the roof and work area will be provided to suitable candidate before commencement.
