Road Freight Operator. European Groupage
Location: London Gateway
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum, depending on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm
An established freight forwarding business is currently recruiting for a Road Freight Operator to join its groupage operations team, handling export movements across multiple European markets.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced road freight professional to join a busy and supportive operations department, working as part of a wider freight forwarding team.
Role Responsibilities
Working within a busy road freight operations department
Handling European groupage services
Arranging the movement of freight from origin through to final destination
Coordinating both international and national freight movements
Liaising with customers, overseas partners and suppliers
Managing operational documentation and ensuring shipments run smoothly
Supporting the wider team with day-to-day operational requirements
Skills and Experience Required
Minimum 2 years' experience in European road freight
Good understanding of European groupage operations
Experience with customs paperwork
Ability to manually calculate costs and charges
Understanding of taxable kilos
Strong customer service skills
Able to work well as part of a team
Confident working independently and managing workload effectively
Driving licence preferred due to location
