Road Freight Business Development Manager
Location: Tamworth
Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus commission
A leading logistics business is looking for a commercially driven Road Freight Business Development Manager to grow its customer base and develop new opportunities across the road freight market.
Experience with FTL, groupage and EU road freight is desirable. If you have a strong road freight business development background, we’d still like to hear from you.
The role
* Identify and win new road freight business
* Build relationships with prospective customers and develop existing accounts
* Understand customer requirements and propose suitable transport solutions
* Prepare and present quotations and commercial proposals
* Manage the sales process from initial contact through to onboarding
* Work closely with operations to ensure a smooth handover for new accounts
* Monitor market activity and identify opportunities for growth
* Work towards agreed sales and gross profit targets
About you
* A proven track record in business development within road freight or logistics
* Experience generating new business and achieving sales or gross profit targets
* Knowledge of road freight services; experience with FTL, groupage and EU freight is desirable
* Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills
* A self-motivated, organised approach and the ability to manage your own pipeline
* A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to meet customers
