Senior Engineer, Rigid Pipelines

Location: Basingstoke
Duration: 12 months+
Inside IR35 contract

Location Highlights: located central Basingstoke, is a landmark office with ample parking and is a mere five-minute walk from the mainline railway station. The location is conveniently close to the M3, enhancing accessibility for commuters.

Role Description: As a Senior Engineer specializing in Rigid Pipelines, you will play a critical role in pioneering new technologies on dynamic projects, contributing to the global shift towards a 'net zero' future. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and capabilities within a leading international energy company.

Key Responsibilities:

Review, comment, and validate key EPC engineering documents.
Ensure consistency in pipeline seismic design, thermal expansion, buoyancy, and upheaval buckling studies.
Validate pipeline routing adjustments, alignment sheets, GIS, and other related documents.
Ensure pipeline design and installation meet the standards of DNVGL-ST-F101, ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, BSI PD 8010-Part1, BSI PD8010-Part2 API RP 1110, API RP 1104, etc.
Validate key specifications, requisitions, designs, procedures, and layout arrangements issued by installation contractors.
Ensure the alignment of various disciplines including Interfaces, Process, Flow Assurance, Material & Corrosion, Operations, Instrumentation, Civil, and Electrical.
Assist in managing the pipeline design and installation contractors.
Prepare key technical papers on critical issues.
Candidate Requirements:

Graduate Masters or Bachelor engineering degree with a specialization in pipeline/material engineering.
Demonstrable experience as a discipline specialist on large oil & gas projects, both academically and in the field.
Knowledge of Welding and NDE techniques (UT, RT, PT, MT and computerized versions of same).
Good knowledge of fracture mechanics, engineering critical assessment methods, and strain-based design.
Experience with pipe manufacturing, hot induction bending, and forging industries.
Previous experience with pipe coating and onshore facilities.
Good communication skills and computer literacy.
Ability to work in a multi-cultural business environment.
English language proficiency is mandatory.
Software Proficiency:

AutoCAD
DNV PET / SESAM Package including DNVGL-RP-F101 corrosion pipeline
Orcaflex, SAGE, and/or ABAQUS (preferable)
Familiarity with NORSOK M-506
