Job Description

The Revit/CAD Technician will be responsible for generating/modifying technical 2D surface and 3D solid drawings revolving around physical security solutions for our clients. The successful candidate will work closely with the Security Solutions Architects and Technical Designers within the design team transforming client blueprints, design plans and gathered information into computer generated drawings using CAD & Revit software. The Revit/CAD Technician will operate in the Technical team, reporting to the Lead Security Solutions Architect. The principal responsibility of the technical team is to ensure a high quality of technical and commercial input during the bidding process and the smooth transition from design to project delivery.

Duties & Responsibilities

Drawing layouts, schematics and/or plans for physical security systems around sites.
Meeting with engineers, subcontractors, and designers to review blueprints and design drawings.
Work with project delivery teams in ensuring red line documentation is updated and issued to as-installed status.
Utilise Revit MEP for modelling system architecture.
Generate and/or manage BIM models whilst owning production and evolution of our BIM object library to level 2.
Reviewing CAD drawings and models with clients, making adjustments where necessary.
Following complex instructions and diagrams to create or modify drawings.
Take verbal or written direction and implement into sketches and calculations to produce the final work.
Produce plans, elevations, technical details and building layouts.
Produce CCTV field of view visualisations.Essential

Expert knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
Experience in and understanding of BIM to level 2.
Experience of using software packages: Adobe Acrobat, Visio, Excel, Word to intermediate or advanced level and design tools. e.g. JVSG.
A sound knowledge of engineering design principles.
A basic understanding of Electronic Security Systems.
