Role Purpose
To provide a professional Reviews service, primarily on matters of suitability of accommodation and allocations (registrations), which supports service delivery, contributes to the growth and development of the service and the skills and knowledge of staff across the directorate.
To provide an effective service to end the main housing duty to households found to have breached the terms of their tenancy or license whilst in temporary accommodation.
Responsibilities
To provide a professional Reviews service, primarily on matters of suitability of accommodation and allocations (registrations), which supports service delivery, contributes to the growth and development of the service and the skills and knowledge of staff across the directorate.
To provide an effective service to end the main housing duty to households found to have breached the terms of their tenancy or license whilst in temporary accommodation.
Initiate and deliver training on key legislation and case-law to other areas of the service.
Write and update policies to reflect the changing nature of reviews and deliver appropriate training.
Decisions around ending housing duty
To end the main housing duty in relation to:
S193(6a) – Ceasing to be eligible
S193(6b) - Intentionally homeless from accommodation made available (temporary accommodation)
S193(6cc) – Accepted an assured tenancy from a private landlord
Requirements
Experience making decisions on homelessness assessments & to allocations
Experience working in councils or housing associations or councils
A good knowledge of Part 6 and Part 7 Housing Act 1996
A good knowledge of Part 6 and Part 7 Housing Act 1996
Contract
Initial 3 molnth contract with the opportunity to extend
Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
