Retail Sales Assistant
Job type: Permanent
Hours: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm
Salary: From £11.75 - £12.00 per hour, experience dependent
Location: Carlisle, Cumbria
NXT is working on behalf of an award-winning family business as we recruit a friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable Retail Sales Assistant to join their team. Full training will be provided, but prior experience in sales, retail, or customer service would be an advantage.
Responsibilities:
* Selling a wide range of products to customers on the shop floor
* Demonstrating products to customers and assisting with their requirements
* Ability to understand the customer's needs to upsell, offer alternative products, and provide a great customer experience
* Stock management and rotation duties, including the use of the company vehicle to transport goods to and from stores
* Building great relationships with customers and always going the extra mile to guarantee repeat business
* Use of the till and IT systems for stock ordering and click & collect
Skills and Experience:
* Sales, retail, or customer service experience is highly desirable
* Basic IT skills and willingness to learn new skills
* Able to use initiative and work in a fast-paced environment
* Strong communication and people skills
* A full UK driving license is required for this position
