The Role

As a Resistant Materials Teacher, you will deliver high-quality lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping students develop design and practical skills using a range of materials and techniques.

Key responsibilities include:

Teaching Resistant Materials across KS3 and KS4
Delivering lessons in design, manufacturing, and practical construction techniques
Supporting students with coursework, projects, and exam preparation
Planning differentiated lessons to meet a range of abilities
Promoting safe working practices, including health & safety in workshops
Monitoring student progress and providing constructive feedback
Working collaboratively within the Design & Technology department

Requirements

To be considered for this Resistant Materials Teacher role, you will need:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience teaching Resistant Materials or Design & Technology at KS3 and/or KS4
Strong knowledge of practical materials, tools, and manufacturing processes
Confident classroom and workshop management skills
A passion for practical education and student engagement
Eligibility to work in the UK
A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
This role is suitable for experienced teachers, ECTs, or DT specialists with a Resistant Materials background.
