Residential Support Worker – Children’s Home

Location: Chesterfield, Derbyshire
Salary: £13.33 per hour + £50 per sleep-in
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

JP Healthcare Recruitment is looking for caring and motivated Residential Support Workers to join a supportive children’s residential home in the Chesterfield area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a genuine difference to children and young people, providing a safe, stable and nurturing environment where they can grow, develop and achieve positive outcomes.

The Role

You’ll be part of a dedicated residential team, supporting children and young people with their day-to-day lives. Key responsibilities include:

* Building positive and trusting relationships with young people

* Providing emotional and practical support

* Supporting education, activities, appointments and community engagement

* Encouraging independence, confidence and essential life skills

* Supporting young people through challenging or emotional situations

* Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children at all times

* Completing daily records, key-work sessions and care documentation

* Helping to create a warm, safe and genuinely homely environment

What We’re Looking For

* Experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable individuals within care, education, youth work, health or a similar setting

* A caring, patient and resilient approach

* Good communication and relationship-building skills

* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection

* Full UK driving licence

* Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and sleep-ins

* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare is desirable, although candidates willing to work towards the qualification will be considered
