Bank Residential Support Worker – Children’s Residential Home

Location: NG8
Pay: £13.50 per hour
Contract: Bank
Hours: As and when required
Sponsorship: This role requires sponsorship

About the Role

We are looking for caring, reliable and experienced Bank Residential Support Workers to join our team in a children’s residential home.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has previous experience working within children’s residential care and is passionate about supporting young people to feel safe, valued and able to reach their full potential.

As a Bank Residential Support Worker, you will work as part of a dedicated team to provide high-quality care and support to children and young people, helping to create a safe, nurturing and positive home environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Providing day-to-day care and support to children and young people.

* Building positive, trusting and professional relationships with the young people.

* Supporting young people with their emotional, social and practical needs.

* Encouraging independence, confidence and personal development.

* Supporting young people with education, activities and community involvement.

* Following individual care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.

* Promoting a safe, supportive and homely environment.

* Maintaining accurate records and completing relevant documentation.

* Working effectively as part of a professional care team.

* Responding appropriately to challenging situations and following agreed behaviour-support strategies.

* Working flexibly to meet the needs of the home, including evenings, weekends and sleep-in/longer shifts where required.

About You

We are looking for applicants who:

* Have previous experience working in children’s residential care.

* Are caring, patient, resilient and emotionally supportive.

* Have a genuine passion for helping children and young people.

* Understand safeguarding and the importance of maintaining professional boundaries.

* Are able to communicate effectively with young people, colleagues and other professionals.

* Can work independently while also being a strong team player.

* Are reliable, responsible and able to work flexibly.

* Are willing to undertake training and continue developing their skills.

NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
