Job Advertisement: Residential Lawyer - Temporary Contract

Location: SM4 5DX

Contract Duration: ASAP - 6 Month Contract (with the possibility of extension)

Working Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Pay Rate: £40.16 per hour PAYE or £45.00 per hour UMBRELLA

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lawyer with specialized knowledge in Housing Law to join our legal team temporarily. This role involves providing expert legal advice, representation, and support in housing-related matters, ensuring our client's rights and interests are protected.

Responsibilities:

Must have experience in all aspects of council housing management advisory work and litigation with a particular emphasis on homelessness and allocations, complex housing possession proceedings (grounds other than rent arrears, succession, unauthorised occupiers, injunctions etc.) and some knowledge of building safety legislation.
Offer expert legal advice and representation in housing-related cases.
Handle a diverse caseload involving housing disrepair, eviction, homelessness, and related matters.
Provide strategic guidance to junior legal staff on complex housing issues.
Prepare and present cases in court, representing clients effectively.
Collaborate with external agencies, stakeholders, and legal partners.
Stay updated on changes in housing laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
Manage client relationships, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and empathy.
Assist in the development of legal strategies and initiatives.Qualifications:

Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with substantial post-qualification experience in Housing Law.
Strong understanding of relevant housing legislation and case law.
Proven track record of successfully handling complex housing cases.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage a busy caseload effectively.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Previous experience in supervising or mentoring junior legal staff is desirable.
Experience in dealing with development plot sales and advising clients on all aspects of residential development; advising on and acting in residential transactions on all aspects of residential conveyancing matters including dealing acquisitions, disposals, lease extensions; variation of restrictive covenant etc .
