Resident Engineer - Building Services
Location: Edinburgh, Scotland
Rate: £400 - £450 per day, outside IR35
Start date: September 2024 - 8 months contract.
Key Skills: Building Services, subcontractor management, Resident Engineer, Site Installation.Our client is an international engineering & construction organisation who have strong pipelines in the major renewable energy and power generation sectors, across the UK.
We are looking for a Resident Engineer - Building Services who will be responsible for the monitoring and coordination of site teams regarding the design, specification and installation of building services and equipment for a major energy construction project.
Services will include HVAC, security systems, fire systems, lighting, electrical distribution boards, water systems etc.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with the design team on the co-ordination of services within the overall building design.
Oversee and supervise the work of the subcontractors on site, ensuring all quality and performance standards are met
Perform the role of Clerk of Works and Resident Engineer on a large renewable energy construction project
Supports the Site Manager and installation team with technical advice of building services installation, and provide a snagging list when required
Ensure that relevant work documentation (RAMS, ITP's etc) are in place and approved prior to works commencing, and ensuring that they are implemented throughout the project
Ensure all site works meets HSE standards
Manage TQ's with subcontractors and ensure responses are provided within the contractual period of replyRequirements:
5+ Years' experience in UK Building service installation and commissioning specifically in security systems, fire systems, lighting, LV electrical distribution boards, hot/cold water systems, HVAC etc
Qualification: NVQ in Building Services or HNC/HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
