Description:

Resident Engagement & Involvement Officer

Central London

6‑Month Fixed‑Term Contract

£40,953–£42,861 p.a.

If you’re passionate about strengthening communities, amplifying resident voices and shaping genuinely responsive housing services, this role offers the chance to make a visible difference in a truly resident‑led environment.

The Opportunity

You’ll take the lead on resident engagement for a unique organisation where tenants and leaseholders have real influence over how their homes and neighbourhoods are managed. With one of the highest levels of devolved responsibility in England, this is a place where resident participation isn’t a tick‑box exercise — it’s the foundation of how services are delivered.

This 6‑month FTC is ideal for someone who thrives in community‑focused work, enjoys building relationships, and wants to help create inclusive, meaningful opportunities for residents to shape decisions that affect their lives.

What You’ll Be Doing

* Designing and delivering strategies to increase resident engagement, especially among secure tenants whose voices are currently underrepresented.

* Supporting resident involvement in building safety, major works and other key housing projects.

* Measuring and reporting on engagement impact, reach and diversity.

* Helping to establish new resident groups and strengthen existing ones.

* Assisting resident representatives to access external funding opportunities.

* Organising community‑building activities and events.

* Producing engaging communications and publicity materials, including social media content.

* Acting as budget holder for TRA funding.

* Coordinating engagement and communications for continuation ballots.

* Promoting and increasing membership across the resident community.

What You’ll Bring

* Experience working directly with residents or service users to enhance engagement, participation and inclusion.

* Understanding of the social housing sector and the unique context of tenant‑managed organisations.

* Insight into community organising and the barriers that prevent people from getting involved.

* Confidence engaging with a diverse resident population and supporting their personal development.

* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, appropriately and professionally.

* Ability to produce high‑quality publicity materials and manage social media effectively.

* A proactive, self‑motivated approach and the ability to manage a varied workload with autonomy.

* Willingness to go beyond the job description to support a resident‑focused community organisation.
