Research Scientist/trials manager required for role in Northamptonshire with background in agronomy or a related field

Research Scientist (Agriculture)

Northamptonshire (commutable from Northampton, Daventry, Rugby, Coventry and surrounding areas) - Driving license required

Salary - £30,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience)

SRG is working with a global manufacturer of innovative agrochemical formulations. Based in the Northamptonshire area, they have recently started hiring for a new member of their team. This opportunity would suit someone with a scientific academic or industrial background with a focus on plants and agriculture. You will join a close-knit team in a largely field-based role, making a UK driving license an essential requirement. Applications from university leavers (especially PhD students) are welcome and individuals with previous industry experience would be considered at the upper end of the salary scale.

Role Description

Managing research projects and agricultural field trials for new agrochemical products
Developing and investigating new ideas and concepts for target customers in the crop protection industry
Designing experiments and writing up statistical reports on findings
Budgeting for field trials and forecasting costs of projects
Using Inova project management software to ensure effective delivery of deadlines

Requirements

A degree or PhD qualification in Agronomy, Horticulture, plant physiology or a similar discipline
Experience designing experiments and analysing data relating to agronomy research and development
Ability and willingness to drive regularly to field trials sites (fuel expenses covered)
Good level of presentation skills and report writing to a high level
Ability to work safely and comply to ISO standards
