Description:
Are you passionate about financial reporting and eager to influence international standards? My Client is looking for a dedicated Research Economist to contribute to a pivotal project endorsing IFRS 18. This role offers a unique opportunity to impact the future of financial reporting in the UK, working with industry leaders and stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities:
Develop and distribute surveys to companies and investors for cost/benefit analysis.
Engage with stakeholders through interviews and other methods to enhance survey data.
Support the economics team leader in data analysis and market-wide cost estimation.
Assist with creating econometric models and cost of capital models for endorsement criteria assessment.
Participate in estimating costs of non-adoption and direct benefits for users.Essential Skills and Qualifications:
Master's degree in economics or finance, or a relevant professional qualification in accounting.
Research experience in industry, consulting, government, NGOs, or academia.
Proficiency in conducting surveys and administering questionnaires.
Strong knowledge and understanding of capital markets.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and meet tight deadlines.Desired Skills:
Knowledge of UK capital markets.
Experience conducting qualitative interviews.
Report writing skills.
This is a 6 month fixed-term, full-time position based in our Central Birmingham office, with frequent travel to our London office.
