Job Description:

Dunbar Education is excited to represent a well-regarded secondary school in Hertford in their search for a dedicated and enthusiastic Religious Studies/Religious Education (RSC/RE) and PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic) Teacher. This role offers an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and supportive educational environment on a one-year fixed-term contract, with the potential for a permanent position based on performance and school needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching: Deliver engaging and thought-provoking Religious Studies/Religious Education and PSHE lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, adhering to the national curriculum.
Lesson Planning: Develop and implement detailed lesson plans that cater to diverse learning abilities and styles in both RSC/RE and PSHE subjects.
Assessment: Regularly assess student progress through essays, exams, and other forms of evaluation, providing constructive feedback.
Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment, managing classroom behavior in accordance with school policies.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and share best practices, contributing to departmental and whole school initiatives.
Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and subject knowledge.
Pastoral Care: Support the emotional and social development of students, acting as a form tutor and providing guidance as needed.
Extracurricular Activities: Participate in and contribute to the school's extracurricular programs and events.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education: A degree in Religious Studies, Theology, or a related field, and a recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS). Experience or qualifications in PSHE education are highly desirable.
Experience: Proven experience teaching Religious Studies/Religious Education and PSHE at the secondary level, preferably within the UK education system.
Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to inspire and motivate students.
IT Skills: Competency in using educational technology and virtual learning environments.
