Are you an experienced Renewable Engineer looking to take the next step in your career?

Cole Connections is recruiting for a specialist renewable energy business delivering heat pump, Solar PV and battery storage projects.

We're looking for a technically strong, hands-on engineer with solid air source heat pump experience who is keen to develop their career across the wider renewable energy sector.

You'll take ownership of quality across renewable energy projects, inspect work on site, support engineers and ensure installations meet the required standards, while remaining practically involved when needed.

This is an excellent opportunity to broaden your renewable energy experience and progress towards Quality Assurance and Project Management, without moving into a purely desk-based role.

What you'll be doing

* Working hands-on alongside engineers across renewable energy installations

* Installing, commissioning, servicing and fault-finding air source heat pump systems

* Supporting Solar PV and battery storage installations

* Carrying out technical and quality inspections across renewable energy projects

* Identifying defects and completing or overseeing remedial work

* Providing technical guidance and support to engineers and subcontractors

* Supporting Project Managers with technical and site issues

* Reviewing schematics, specifications and technical information

* Completing inspection, commissioning and service documentation

* Conducting professional customer handovers

What we're looking for

First and foremost, you'll be a strong, experienced and hands-on engineer. Air source heat pumps should be your strongest discipline, with the practical experience and technical knowledge to confidently work alongside other engineers while also assessing the quality of their work.

You'll need:

* Strong air source heat pump installation, commissioning, servicing and fault-finding experience

* Good knowledge of domestic heating systems, hydraulics, cylinders, pumps, valves and controls

* Experience or knowledge of Solar PV and battery storage systems

* Experience assessing workmanship and technical quality

* Ability to interpret schematics, technical drawings and manufacturer specifications

* Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach

* Full UK driving licence

You'll hold recognised qualifications relevant to your engineering background. These could include plumbing and heating, heat pump installation/commissioning, Solar PV, Unvented Hot Water, Water Regulations, 18th Edition, electrical energy storage, MCS or similar. You don't need to hold every qualification listed.

Manufacturer experience with Vaillant, Grant or Trianco would be beneficial, although further training can be provided.

What's on offer?

£48,000 - £58,000 DOE, company van, fuel card, mobile phone, pension, paid annual leave and ongoing manufacturer and technical training.

If you're an experienced engineer with a strong heat pump background who wants to build a broader career across renewable energy, I'd love to hear from you
