Through our PFI waste contract with Cornwall Council, SUEZ is committed to establish a renew / reuse network across Cornwall.

The Renew shops and hubs are to be used to collect, repair, and resell items donated from our Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs). The Renew project is also envisaged to support multiple off-site events, pop-up shops and a range of online sales platforms.

This role will oversee the management of the entire Renew project. The role will also manage and report on the social value delivered by the Renew project, whereby charities, community groups and SMEs work together and collectively benefit from any potential donations created through this from SUEZ.

The Renew Manager will play a pivotal role in growing the SUEZ reuse offering across the UK through knowledge sharing, reporting of KPIs, sharing best practice, establishing new initiatives and identifying new opportunities, through the national reuse network.

About the Role

* Based at our Cornwall Energy Recovery Centre in St Dennis.

* £47,689.00 per year + Car or Car Allowance + 10% Bonus + Benefits

What will I be doing?

* To achieve financial budgets, meeting operational cost targets and managing costs through detailed analysis of P&L.

* To support senior management in the formulation and implementation of a business plan to support strategic growth of reuse within Cornwall and commercial reuse within the wider business.

* Build and maintain a trusted relationship with the client on all aspects of re-use hub performance.

* Ensure the re-use hub and re-use shops always comply with current legislation.

* Contribute to the creation of and follow standards operations processes for the receipt, repair, quality check, transport and sale of goods donated to the central re-use hub from the HWRCs.

* Recruitment, training, management, and support of staff, third sector organisations and volunteers, as well as monitoring staff performance.

* Ensure effective security of cash, stock, and premises.

* Promote a culture of excellent customer service as well as equality and diversity to ensure we offer an accessible, safe, and welcoming environment to all.

* Promote the re-use hub and re-use shops via social media.

* Motivate, organise, and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded.

What are the requirements?

* Understanding of retail and management.

* Knowledge of health and safety, trading standards and other relevant legislation.

* Understanding of warehousing.

* Insight of workshop management or repair.

* Awareness of re-use and the circular economy.

* Comprehension of mental health issues, homelessness, and social issues.

* Current Drivers Licence.

* Relationship building.
