Reliability Engineering Leader

You're a hands-on engineer who enjoys being close to the action - not stuck behind a desk.

You like solving problems, fixing things properly, and keeping production running smoothly.

You're confident leading others on shift, but still enjoy rolling your sleeves up and getting involved in the work yourself.

If that sounds like you, keep reading.

Competitive salary + annual shift allowance

Shift-based role with rotation every 2 weeks

Day Shift: 06:00 - 14:00

Night Shift: 14:00 - 22:00

What You'll Be Doing

In this role, you won't just maintain equipment - you'll help drive reliability across the site.

You'll be the go-to engineering lead on shift, supporting both your team and production to keep everything running safely and efficiently.

You'll be:

Taking ownership of CMMS work orders and keeping maintenance activity up to date

Leading and supporting PPM and reactive maintenance work

Diagnosing and fixing mechanical and electrical faults to reduce downtime

Working closely with production teams to hit performance targets

Supporting shutdowns, overhauls and planned maintenance activities

Coordinating contractors and making sure work is done safely and correctly

Driving continuous improvement ideas that make the site better every day

Supporting and developing shift engineers through coaching and training

Making sure safety, GMP and food safety standards are always met

Keeping tools, equipment and critical plant in top condition

What You'll Need to Bring

We're looking for someone practical, reliable and confident in a manufacturing environment.

Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding ability

Experience in a production or manufacturing engineering environment

Hands-on maintenance background (not just theory)

Confidence supervising engineers or contractors on shift

Good understanding of health & safety standards (IOSH desirable)

Comfortable using CMMS systems and basic IT tools

Strong communication and team working skills

A proactive, "fix it properly" mindset

Qualifications

Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC, HND or equivalent)

18th Edition Wiring Regulations (or equivalent electrical qualification)

Experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance of production equipment

FLT licence (nice to have, not essential)

Why This Role?

This isn't just another maintenance job.

It's a chance to:

Step into a leadership role while staying hands-on

Influence how reliability and maintenance are delivered on site

Work in a fast-paced, modern manufacturing environment

Be part of a team that values safety, quality and improvement

Develop your skills with ongoing training and career progression

If you're an experienced engineer ready to take the next step into a leadership role, we'd love to hear from you
