Registered Veterinary Nurse

Permanent Opportunity

Oldbury /Halesowen

Salary: up to £35K per year.

Hours of Work: 5-day week preferred, however open to 3 or 4 days.

The position involves working Monday to Friday, with 1 in 4 Saturdays (a day off in lieu). The standard working week is 5 days per week but would be willing to offer part time positions.

We are working in partnership with a small animal practice who are seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse. They are a modern first opinion small animal practice with 2 branches. They pride themselves on having a multicultural team with a breadth of experience. They perform a range of procedures from neutering and dental work to BOAS and orthopaedics. Their dedicated teamwork in harmony with each other which is very important to them. Both practices are equipped with all the latest gadgets, and they love to invest in new technologies.

Their Halesowen branch has a variety of patients, dogs, cats, and small fury’s. This is a 2 vet, 3 nurse branch. One of their vets is specialising in Dentistry and the other in Ultrasonography, their head nurse is also undergoing their surgical nursing training.

Their Oldbury branch is our 24-hour hospital branch. They regularly have complex cases, and a large amount is ECC. Their head vet has a huge range of experience, especially with bull breeds, he is a registered Cambridge BOAS assessor and has a true passion for the breed.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team of 6 Veterinary Surgeons, 7RVN/SVN's and 2 kennel assistants.

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will:

· Maintain a high standard of inpatient care and assist with surgical procedures.

· Communicate professionally with clients, maintaining a positive relationship with all team members.

· Comply with RCVS Nursing Code of Conduct and meet CPD requirements.

· Ensure cleanliness throughout the practice and fulfil rota obligations.

· Your daily duties will include admitting and discharging patients for routine operations, staying updated on preventative healthcare, product knowledge, and practice policies, and running nurse clinics.

· You will also ensure the correct disposal of clinical waste and maintain effective stock control and rotation.

To succeed in this role,

· You must be a fully qualified RVN committed to maintaining high standards of care.

· Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, as well as the ability to work well within a team and support colleagues.

· Adherence to professional dress code and appearance policies is also required.
