Our client is an experienced social care provider looking to appoint a registered manager to be part of their registration for a new 4 bedded children home based in a picturesque village on the Wirral. The service is to provide safe accommodation and support to young people aged 16-17 leaving care.
As the Registered Manager of children's home, the day to day responsibilitiesr is varied, and include but not limited to:
Taking overall responsibility for the management of the home to deliver effective services to young people living in the home
Ensuring that there is clear leadership and management of practice in the running of the home
Ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained which are consistent with the requirements of the registering authorities and the organisational policies
Maintaining the highest levels of safeguarding to protect vulnerable service users and staff
Maintaining the highest standards of Health & Safety throughout the home, including risk management, first-aid, fire safety arrangements, accident/incident prevention etc
Managing challenging behaviour in line with company policies and procedures and best practices
Working collaboratively with all stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams involved with individual children in our care
Managing staff performance through regular appraisal meeting and providing training and mentoring opportunities for all children support workers
Meeting budgeting requirement through efficient methods and maintaining commercial awareness
Taking responsibility in promoting the home to external officers, trying to maintain occupancy levels and developing a good relationship with referring agencies
Undertaking any other duties commensurate with the pay-scale as identified and directed by the Principal Officers of the company
To be successful ideal candidate for the Registered Manager position should have
1. minimum 2 years experience in a management position within social care or education settings
2. 2 years experience working in residential children services
3. level 5 diploma or equivalent. Candidates with enthusiasm and willingness to complete the qualification will be considered
4. great personality and goal oriented attributes
