Regional Technical Sales Manager
Location: Buckingham, MK18 1PJ – Field Based, covering Midlands and South West including Wales
Salary: £35-40k plus commission, Car, Fuel Card & Benefits
Contract: Full Time, Permanent

About us:
VL Test Systems are the market leader in Commercial Vehicle Brake Testers and have been in the UK market since 1989. This is due to their attention to detail, uncompromising standards when it comes to equipment manufacture, extensive national servicing team as well as their longstanding working relationship with the DVSA. Key customers include Arriva, Volvo, Stagecoach as well as the MoD, for whom they install and service brake testers both in the UK and abroad.
Regional Technical Sales Manager - The Role:
The main administrative tasks will include arranging site visits, quoting, arranging installation dates and creating site drawings which require a competent level of knowledge in using the Microsoft 365 package.
There will be a need to travel which may require nights away. This will also include when VLT are exhibiting at trade shows or attending quarterly sales team meetings.
Regional Technical Sales Manager - Skills / Attributes:
The ideal candidate will have a strong sales background with a knowledge of automotive testing equipment or DVSA testing requirements being desirable. They will need to be self-motivated and organised with a keen eye for detail. Strong listening skills combined with an ability to identify sales opportunities are key to the role as is adaptability, as they will be dealing with both PLCs and independent businesses.
They must be willing to learn about current equipment, undertake training when required and be able to stay up to date with equipment and software updates as well as DVSA testing requirements.
They will need to be a good communicator with a wide-ranging customer base to interact with as well as civil contractors and VLT’s own installation engineers and administrative teams.
You will have or be capable of:
* Comprehensive man management
* Guidance and accurate reporting
* Conversing with PLC’s and independent businesses alike
* Excellent work ethics
* An ability for marketing and exhibition planning
* An eye for detail
* Capability to grasp new technology as it arises.
