Description:

Shirley Parsons are delighted to be working with a leading Civil Engineering business who are looking to appoint a Quality Manager covering the Midlands & South East. The role will be 1 day working from home at 4 days on site and is paying up to £65,000 plus car/allowance, bonus and benefits.

The primary role is to ensure sites and departments are in compliance with company procedures, carry out audits and inspections in line with management system requirements, provide support to the site teams and the wider business, be an active part of supporting key initiatives and supporting business development and continual improvement.

Responsibilities

Assurance and compliance

* Carry out site audits and inspections and departmental audits to meet, as a minimum, the requirements of the management system in addition to supplier audits as required.

* Support third party and supply chain audit requirements where requested.

* Provide reports on assurance and compliance with the management systems and performance against client requirements and audits, inspections and NCRS.

* Review trends and mitigate key issues for the projects they are responsible for.

* Attend Quality and HSEQSIM meetings.

Business development and site support

* Provide support to the sites, providing guidance, and supporting site activities, such as initiatives and other continual improvement projects.

* Support the effective and timely development of handover documents on key projects.

* Support key project level challenges and developments.

* Support the quality management aspects of quality sections of tenders.

* Provide assistance to ensure that quality aspects of pre-qualification questionnaires and tenders are in accordance with the IMS.

Quality Strategy

* Actively promote Quality improvement programme Quality Ripple.

* Provide support and guidance to the projects

Quality non-conformance investigations

* Ensure that project teams carry out investigations and root cause analysis as required to address specific project quality issues and support where necessary.

Qualifications

* Internal Auditor with demonstrable experience of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd party audits.

* Demonstrable site-based civils experience is essential, including heavy civil engineering and experience across a range of construction disciplines would be beneficial.

* Good presentation, written, analytical and IT skills.

* Good interpersonal skills with the ability to guide and educate/train at all levels.

* Self-confidence to build strong working relationships internally and externally
