Position Overview

Job Title: Regional M&E Lead - Central Region
Location: Central Region, UK (Requires regional travel)
Reporting To: Director of DC Build and Engineering
Hours: 37.5 hours/week, Mon-Fri (Plus occasional out-of-hours support)About Our Client

Purpose of the Role

You will manage a team of internal M&E Engineers and specialist sub-contractors. Serving as the core technical authority for regional Data Centre Managers, you will ensure the safe, efficient operation of all critical infrastructure while minimising operational risk.

Core Responsibilities

Critical Operations: Optimise building systems and operational procedures, ensuring robust execution of SOPs, EOPs, and TOPs.
High-Voltage Authority: Fulfil the duties of an HV and LV Senior Authorised Person.
Change Management: Review and approve high-risk change requests and attend CAB meetings to support site activity.
Maintenance & Upgrades: Plan mechanical and electrical maintenance, track deferred tasks, and introduce technical enhancements to improve building operations.
Asset Lifecycle: Manage asset lifecycles and partner with managers to develop CAPEX requirements.
Sustainability & Risk: Support energy management programmes and maintain the operational risk register.
Team Leadership: Oversee engineering training, development, and emergency scenario programmes.
Compliance: Ensure all regional sites strictly comply with safety regulations and statutory frameworks, including PSSR, LOLER, L8, and F-Gas.
Incidents: Guide site teams through operational incidents and execute Root Cause Analysis.Candidate Profile

Qualifications: BA/BS degree or equivalent practical industry experience.
Technical Training: Formal electrical certification (e.g., City & Guilds) and a full UK driving licence.
Certifications: AP15 qualification with HV Authorised Person experience. Data centre management (e.g., CDCMP) and ITIL Foundation certifications are highly desirable.
Experience: Proven background in mission-critical data centre environments alongside people-management experience.
Skills: Strong understanding of data centre infrastructure, UK regulatory frameworks (H&S, ISO 27001/14000, PCI), and solid stakeholder management skills.
