Are you an experienced Health and Safety Advisor looking to take the lead in embedding health and safety theories and practices across all levels? If so, join Elysium Healthcare as a Regional Health and Safety Advisor and ensure the health and safety of all service users, families, visitors and staff in the Neurological Service Division.

With passion for health and wellbeing, you will be key in engaging with people across Elysium and making sure health and safety is relevant and visible to everyone. You will be someone who understands how people’s competence, skills, personality, attitude, and risk perception influence behaviours at work and you will develop and implement frameworks, provide specialist advice and promote a culture of personal responsibility.

Some of your main responsibilities include supporting the L & D team with facilitating Fire Marshall training, reviewing training material and delivering training to ensure services are kept up to date with the latest training, skills and knowledge.

As a Regional Health and Safety Advisor, you will be maintaining the risk assessment database for the region and will be responsible for overseeing accidents investigations alongside the relevant manager of the service. Working alongside the Registered Facilities Manager and Site Directors, you will advise how the services need to comply with local Health and Safety Regulations, including fire related concerns and preparation for audits and inspections.

There is a requirement to travel to our Neurological service, which covers from Middlesbrough,Stoke-on Trent, Midlands, Gloucester and Swindon. 

As a Regional Health and Safety Advisor, you will be:

Monitoring accidents, incidents and near misses in the hospital via the IRIS system, ensuring the accident reporting procedure is followed (including RIDDOR reporting) and by taking the relevant steps to minimise the risk of reoccurrence.

Maintaining and reviewing the database for fire risk assessments for the region.

Arranging regular health and safety audits of all areas of the hospital and overseeing the actions from these by evaluating the effectiveness.

Ensuring a COSHH database is maintained and updated as required.

Assisting with and carry out accident investigations as when required in conjunction with relevant managers.

Liasing with regulatory bodies such as HSE, Local Authority and HIW where required.

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

Obtained and maintained membership of IOSH

Be NEBOSH General Certificate Qualified

Hold NEBOSH Fire Certificate or willing to work towards in year 1 of employment

Be competent and have the appropriate qualification to carry out Fire Risk Assessments.

Up-to-date knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation

Valid Driving License
