Refuge Support Worker (Part-Time)

Birmingham | £15,233 (FTE £25,380) | 21 hours per week
Fixed-term until October 2027

Make a difference that truly matters

Our client is looking for a compassionate and proactive Refuge Support Worker to support women from BAME communities who are experiencing domestic abuse and homelessness.

You’ll work directly with women in refuge, helping them rebuild their confidence, develop life skills, and move into safe, permanent accommodation.

What you’ll be doing:

* Providing 1:1 support and advocacy

* Supporting access to safe housing and resettlement

* Delivering life skills workshops (confidence, budgeting, wellbeing)

* Working with agencies and housing providers

* Supporting clients with benefits, applications, and tenancy sustainment

* Participating in an on-call rota

What we’re looking for:

* Empathy, resilience, and a non-judgemental approach

* Experience in support work, housing, or similar (desirable)

* Strong communication and organisational skills

* Passion for supporting women affected by domestic abuse
